Ever since Colégio Guadalupe joined School Sport (2005/2006), female volleyball has awakened students’ curiosity, interest and enthusiasm, becoming one of the most cherished sports.
The head of the sport is the teacher Nuno Carvalho since its beginning (2005/06).
Volleyball is a sport that develops sociability and team spirit among its players, as can be seen by the companionship not only between the players but also between the students and their teacher. We can conclude that the practice of volleyball strengthens self-esteem, creates the habit of teamwork and stimulates discipline and organisation. This is a non-violent sport that can be practised by all age groups.
