The Robotics Club intends to be a space open to all students, although, in the initial stage, it will concentrate its activities on the students who have Information and Communication Technologies and Computer Applications B, so that with the acquired skills they can also develop projects with the other students of the school and all teaching levels.
The project is based on Educational Robotics and programming that allow the creation of an environment where students interact with the concrete and the abstract to solve proposed problems. From an educational point of view, educational robotics can be defined as a set of basic concepts of mechanics, automation, hydraulics, computer science and artificial intelligence involved in the operation of a robot in a learning environment.
The outcome of experiments and projects involving the use of robots by children is very positive. Robotics is an aid to the intellectual development of children and young people, allowing robots to interact with diverse learning environments.
Robots make it possible to create structures and behaviours, allowing the construction of interactive models from which to learn basic science and engineering concepts. They allow the creation, programming and assembly of robots with distance notions, able to react to movements, noises and colours, and to perform movements with a high degree of accuracy.
